Business Excellence Awards
Luis F. Guijarro, CEO of Hercesa, is grateful for the award of Executive 2024 in the CEOE-CEPYME Guadalajara Business Excellence Awards, considering it an honor to be chosen as winner by the business people of Guadalajara, where the business reality of Hercesa is based and from where it operates all over the world, with offices in Portugal, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Panama and Mexico.

The Business Excellence Awards, which are awarded annually by CEOE-CEPYME Guadalajara, have great professional and social prestige because, as stated by María Soledad García, president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations of Guadalajara, at the presentation of the 16 awards of the 2024 edition, “they are recognitions that reward the work and effort of our entrepreneurs, who create jobs and turn their effort and their lives into an example of dedication to others.”
Luis Guijarro is a lawyer with a Law Degree from the University of Alcalá, an Administrative Manager, a Higher Diploma in Financial and Fiscal Law from the CETE and in Real Estate Management from the University of Comillas, and stands out for his honest profile, which inspires confidence in his collaborators and numerous external contacts. After starting his professional career as an assistant to the financial management of Autodasa and working as a tax lawyer with the lawyer María José de Juan Sánchez, he joined the Legal Department of Hercesa in 1990, where, after holding various positions and functions, he was appointed General Manager in 2020.
Luis is particularly pleased with this recognition because it coincides with the celebration of the company’s 50th anniversary, which has been graphically designed by the Marketing and Communication Departments with the phrase “50 añoooos” (50 years), which includes three “o’s” symbolizing the three dos in the ellipsis, to indicate that the company has the vocation to continue for many more years with confidence in the future.
With proven experience, he leads the 500 people who make up the large Hercesa family with a friendly approach and a firm and participative leadership, with determination, a clear vision of the future and an open mind to the proposals of his collaborators. He was awarded the KPMG and Actualidad Económica prize for the 100 best financiers in 2012 and regularly participates in seminars, courses and conferences as an expert in the real estate sector.
All the members of Hercesa’s Management Committee, Juan José Cercadillo, CEO of the company, Montserrat Cercadillo, Alejandro Solano, Gregorio Castillo, Laura Espliego, Maribel Gil, Eladio Catalán, Pedro Herrera, José Luis Fernández del Viso and Blas Pérez, as well as the members of the Board of Directors, congratulate the winner on his recognition. Together they make Hercesa a comprehensive real estate manager, leading in all phases of its sector: residential, commercial, logistics, land, tertiary and industrial.
Hercesa’s CEO and the entire management team are leading Hercesa towards a promising future, building sustainable homes that are adapted to the needs of clients, developing booming sectors to generate development and employment, and proposing new markets and emerging businesses, as the real estate sector is in constant transformation.
In 2025, Hercesa will deliver its 30,000th home, which, in the words of Luis Guijarro, “is a great responsibility because buying a home is a decisive step in people’s lives”, Luis, on behalf of all those involved in the sophisticated real estate production chain, thanks these 30,000 families for their choice and promises to continue working to deserve the trust of future generations, as well as the banks that support the projects. It is exciting to see parents, children and grandchildren buying their homes in Hercesa.
The winner wishes to thank all the suppliers and collaborators of Hercesa, from the aforementioned banking entities, people from the local, regional, national and international administrations, to the suppliers of the works and the representatives of the media for the congratulations received for the award on his career and experience.
The winner would also like to highlight Hercesa’s important work as an urban development manager, with the implementation of industrial and logistics projects such as La Ciudad del Transporte or the El Ruiseñor Industrial Estate, which have generated between 10,000 and 12,000 jobs in Guadalajara and its area of influence. These are projects that form a solid link in various logistics chains between Madrid, the Henares Corridor and the Port of Tarragona.
Luis Guijarro is a committed advocate of the company’s compliance system, actively participating in the drafting and updating of its Code of Ethical Conduct, which is available to everyone on the company’s website, monitoring all its day-to-day implications, with an Equality Plan that is strictly followed to ensure that a good working environment and work-life balance are something verifiable, and with environmental policies set by the innovative ESG Committee, which is responsible for sustainability with an ethical spirit and transparency to comply with all European regulations on caring for the planet. In this sense, as a director, he supports the Bee-Hogar project, in which Hercesa homebuyers contribute to the maintenance of a pollination apiary in Budia, a town in the province of Guadalajara that suffered a fire and whose area is being repopulated by the hard-working bees.
Luis also wishes to share the award with the Fundación Hercesa, directed by Marta Muñoz de Pedro, through which the company fulfills its social responsibility towards the environment, providing the necessary training to people in situations of social exclusion and training employed workers to improve their professional skills. With more than 40,000 hours of training provided in its 25-year history, the Foundation creates the best scenario for reinventing personal, training and employment opportunities.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that Luis Guijarro, after dedicating his professional potential to the general management of Hercesa, devotes his personal time to his family, friends, reading, hiking and painting. CONGRATULATIONS to Luis and thank you for your efforts to ensure that Hercesa turns 100 years old and more, building meaningful things and homes, as the company’s motto says.
