Juan José Cercadillo García, the president of Hercesa, was honored as an adopted son of Castile-La Mancha.
He received the award “for his contributions to the economic and social development of Castilla-La Mancha, as well as for his decisive role in job creation and economic growth in the region.”

Guadalajara, June 2nd, 2025. On May 31st, the Castile-La Mancha Region celebrated its day with the slogan “Pride in what is ours.” The institutional ceremony took place at the Albacete Conference Center, where President Emiliano García-Page presented distinctions to forty-three prominent figures from the region, including honorary daughters and sons, as well as Gold Medals and plaques of recognition for merit.
Juan José Cercadillo was born in Barcones, in the province of Soria. He arrived in Guadalajara in 1975 and founded Hercesa “with 200 pesetas and a lot of enthusiasm,” as he said. He is the epitome of the self-made man whose dream was to build a large company with many employees and collaborators.
Construction has always been his passion. Since building a block of 12 homes in Marchamalo in 1975 and renovating the Valfermoso de las Monjas Convent in 1979, he has built 38 homes in the Atenas Building in Guadalajara and 246 homes in La Vaguada in the city’s northern expansion zone. There have been many ups and downs along the way, culminating in delivering a total of 30,000 homes in eight countries on three continents. In the field of land management and development for logistics and industrial use, Hercesa has built what companies have demanded. Juan José Cercadillo recognized that Guadalajara’s strategic location in prosperous Castile-La Mancha, close to Madrid, was the perfect place to create the Ciudad de Transporte, an industrial park that brings together roads, railways, and maritime transport, and which today is home to countless companies on its 2,148,337 m2. This successful development, known as Puerta Centro Ciudad del Transporte, is a mere example, as Hercesa operates in all phases of its sector: residential, commercial, logistics, tertiary, industrial and heritage.
Juan José Cercadillo stands out for his forward-thinking approach to identifying the best geographical areas, allowing him to stay ahead of people and market trends. Thanks to its clear-headed leadership, Hercesa has always been one step ahead. This is evident in its expansion to the Ensanche district of Alcalá de Henares, Miramadrid in Paracuellos de Jarama, Málaga, or Bucharest.
Juan José Cercadillo is a successful businessman known for his choice of traveling companions. He created a reliable team with his partners, Javier Solano and Eladio Catalán. They share a vision of the future and a commitment to high-quality construction projects. These projects are the most important investments for the demanding middle class, who see housing as a way to see their families grow. His other traveling companions are known to Juan José by their first and last names. They are more than 500 company employees. Juan José understands the family business this way. The team of external collaborators is equally important. Mutual loyalty enables them to overcome recurring crises in the real estate sector, forge true personal friendships, and work together long-term.
Let’s keep an eye on Hercesa’s new projects. In keeping with the spirit of its founding partners, the company, led by CEO Juan José Cercadillo Calvo, will continue to create homes, industrial buildings, and jobs. They will follow in the footsteps of the star in their logo, which guides them toward creating homes and things with a purpose.
