On Thursday, February 16, 2023, the symbolic act of “Key handover” to the residents of the hi! Cañaveral development, classified as VPPB (Basic Public Protection Housing), took place. ¡Hola! Real Estate has developed a total of 1,380 giant homes in the sector, 1,225 of which have been delivered as of January 2023.

The event was attended by Ms Paloma Martín, Councillor for the Environment, Housing and Agriculture of the Community of Madrid and Mr Juan José Cercadillo, CEO of hi! Real Estate, the company that has built and promoted a large part of the protected housing already delivered within the El Cañaveral urban development. Also attending were Mr José María García, Deputy Minister of Housing and Land Management, Ms María José PiccioMarchetti, General Director of Housing and Rehabilitation, Mr Luis Guijarro, General Director of hi Real Estate, Ms Montserrat Cercadillo, Director of the Real Estate Division of hi! Real Estate and Juan José Cercadillo, President of Hercesa.

The hi! Cañaveral project of the company hi! Real Estate represents a milestone in the constructive improvement of affordable public housing as it is an exclusive set of homes designed with two fundamental objectives; On the one hand, to optimize the living conditions and orientation of the homes for the sake of energy efficiency and on the other to improve the environmental conditions of the interior common areas of the block.

hi! Cañaveral structures the block through a system of tower blocks that have different models of housing with large terraces on their corners. Both the exterior common areas and the atriums that give access to the homes have been carefully designed to make the most of natural light. All framed in a performance with a comfortable and versatile urbanism and excellent surrounding communications.

hi! Real Estate has built more than 28,000 homes during its almost 50-year history, 7,000 of which are classified as Protected Housing. The company has traditionally understood affordable housing as one of its main business commitments in line with its ESG policy, something that will continue to be the case in the more than 1,000 homes in its portfolio in Madrid-Berrocales, Colmenar Viejo, the Henares Corridor and in some parts of Castilla La Mancha, Navarra and Andalusia.
